Founded in 1994 as a contract packager specializing in tabletting and encapsulating for the small- and medium-sized dietary supplement market, NPRI has evolved into a global supplier of nutraceuticals and nutritional bioactives. We serve diverse industries including food, food supplements, personal care, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, pet food, animal feed, and oil and gas industry.
Innovative Process Development
Central to our transformation is the development of our unique oil-to-powder conversion process, O2P™. Introduced in 1997, O2P™ (Oil-to-Powder) was a breakthrough in the nutraceuticals industry, addressing the limitations of existing technologies that relied on extreme temperatures, which often compromised the nutritional integrity of oils.
Our scientists recognized that these extreme conditions significantly altered the molecular structure of oils, reducing or destroying active nutrients. Additionally, traditional processes conducted at normal atmospheric pressure increased the risk of
oxidation and elevated peroxide values, while limiting the oil content in powders.
O2P™ was designed to preserve the integrity of the oil throughout the conversion process, delivering a free-flowing powder compatible with most dry mix production processes. This allows food and food supplement marketers to enhance their products with essential nutrients like omega-3 and Vitamin E. Personal care product producers can also benefit by incorporating antioxidants and amino acids to elevate their cosmetic formulations.
- Advanced Technology
Our gravity flow process, conducted in an oxygen-free environment, has undergone significant enhancements. By 2003 and early 2004, we had developed a powder capable of holding nearly 70% oil content compared to 40% from other technologies. We also improved our carrying agents, offering GMO-free, starch, vegetable-based, and other alternatives.
